I’m Andy Welsh. I’m a DevOps Engineer and Sysadmin from the North East of England.
I enjoy designing and building secure, efficient and scalable systems and have a particular interest in the areas of Cloud-Native Technologies, Infrastructure as Code, Automation, Encryption and Security Protocols, however I dislike the high barriers to entry presented by most of the technologies in these ecosystems and the issues this causes for both Sysadmins and Developers in attempting to adopt them.
This site is a collection of my own guides, projects and solutions to real world problems I haven’t found much about anywhere else, presented in what’s hopefully a clear, grounded and accessible manner that assumes very little prior knowledge.
I don’t claim to be the final authority on any topic I talk about here or claim to have all the answers, I can’t imagine anything more boring than having nothing left to learn. If you think you have a better solution to anything written here, if something isn’t as clear as you think it could be or if you’re really really stuck on a problem then leave a comment or drop me a line and we can take a look at it.
This site is ad-free, anonymises visitor data and is not run for profit of any kind, it’s here only as a source of information. Having experienced my own share of confusion and frustration when attempting to wade in to the world of DevOps tools and concepts; it’s my hope these posts will assist someone further down the road, like so many other posts and blogs have for me.
